Plant a Tree By planting trees with World Land Trust (WLT), you are helping to restore forests that have been lost to deforestation. Every £5 donation to our Plant a Tree programme funds the nurturing, planting, and protecting of one tree that will help restore a forest for wildlife. We vet our partners to ensure that we maintain a tree survival rate of 80-90%. Depending on the project, our partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground. Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival. Planting your orchard The day has finally arrived, it’s probably a winter’s day as trees are best planted when dormant (normally November to March) but without snow on the ground. It may be chilly but there’s going to be a lot of digging to warm everyone up.
